4wd kei van! Definitely was not keeping up with traffic, although that may have had more to do with the clouds of smoke emerging from the windows than anything to do with the engine.

I wish our state would allow all Kei cars. Nope, just the trucks.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

That lowered BMW is not having any more fun leaving that driveway than the key truck is keeping up with traffic.

Looks like either it’s US owner was very hard on it, or it was bought very cheaply at the Japanese auctions. Daihatsu or Suzuki?

Really? How do they manage to ban just Kei cars?

Looks like a Subaru Sambar because of the massive rear window.

Ah, you are right good sir! The rear bumper didn’t look big enough to be the engine lid due to the dent to me. :)

Newer trucks are allowed by our mini truck laws. Somehow people import them for off road use only in many states. It works around the 25 year ban.
Edit: Here is a perfect example of what is road legal in my state(Google Indiana mini truck laws to get a solid idea of regulations)

I may have seen the same little van in my adventures. Unless there’s a few around.
